I go willingly

I know that many of you will want to send me to time out for this, but don't worry...I will go willingly.  Brace yourself......I don't care about the Super Bowl tonight.

I know, I know it's shocking.  A gay chick who would rather watch ANYTHING else, has this ever happened before?  I've been invited to a Super Bowl party but the thought of having to act like I'm interested for HOURS is more than I can handle.  On this I am your typical chick, send me to the kitchen and let me eat dip, but please, please, please don't make me act like I know (or care) what is going on.  If there was a way to collect all the commercials and put them together, without the game interupting-I'd be all about it.  But no, if I want to see the commercials I have to sit through the game.

So tonight I will be at home (not at the aformentioned party) making homework assignments, grading papers and doing laudry-focusing soley on the commercials until I get too tired and go to bed.  OH!  Who else is less than thrilled that the game is so late this year?  I know it's because it's on the west coast, but still...I have to be up at 5:30....a game that lasts too long and doesn't start until 6...I'd never make it even if I was interested.  So yes, I'm being a bad homo....off to my timeout chair.

The ONLY reason I don't care about the game is because my team didn't make it. I'm a total guy that way.

The ONLY reason I won't be watching it is because I start work at 6 pm tonight.

Sorry.. LOL... no support here.

Asphalt Cowboy-hopefully you were able to catch some highlights while you were at work, I heard it was an exciting game

Sabrae-I sat in my time out chair joyfully reading a book :-)

I also am a bad homo. Bad, bad homo. My son told me I was un-American. "Mom, not watching the superbowl is so gay."

It appears your femme side out-weighed your butch side in this particular instance. All you need to do is remodel the bathroom and your dyke chi will balance out.

Eb-You are so right about needing to balance my dyke chi! Oh, and your kid is hilarious.

I don't watch football unless someone else is and, ahem, expects me to, and then I read or do other things at the same time, chiming in at the appropriate moments and willing to accept excited hugs and kisses when the right side does well. Oddly I do know a fair amount about the strategy and rules of football because I dated a woman from a professional sports family.

I have been a lesbian for 35+ years and I almost failed PE in high school (but the butch teacher liked me ;) so I passed, thank god for butch PE teachers) and I never played team sports of any kind. So sports rarely generates much consistent interest for me.

I did watch Star Trek this year and read and blogged instead. Fun for me! I think the timeout chair would have been very busy if it had gone national.

Running Away with the Spoon-I'm not so nice. If I have to watch I root for the underdog (or whoever the room is not cheering for) just to keep myself interested.

I spent time with the cute girl and some other friends and was kinda sore about the Cards losing- I am like you when it comes for rooting for the underdawg...gotta love 'em...and if you have never seen Suzanne Westenhoefer's comedy bit about football...check it out

Bammy-haha...it just continues to show that I have NO IDEA about football. Someone told me the game was on the west coast and that is why it started so late. I never actually thought to check my source (she's a dyke who loves football, her word was good to me) before posting! Welcome back to comment land :-)
